Eclipse launches a new module called PHP Development Tools 1.0 (PDT). By doing this they are hoping to get PHP developers change their working environment to theirs instead. With 4.5 million coders I assume they want to be in the game as well and can’t blame them.
Eclipse a coding environment that supports a lot of languages, I’ve used it in the past when working with java and now with PDT I’ll finally be able to do most of the coding using the same tool.
The director of Eclipse, Mike Milinkovich said that this is great news and will open up the doors for the around 4.5 million PHP developers and coders.
Eclipse offers 1400 plugins that will be available to the programmer, as most coders don’t work with just one language like PHP, but with languages like Java or C/C++.
Most also use some sort of version manager, testing and debugging and Eclipse is offering all that in one great tool.
If you haven’t tried Eclipse out yet, I strongly recommend that you give it a try, I have to say that I personally do like it very much.

I have yet to try this one, I somewhat like using phpEdit for its auto code completion and ‘Code beautifier’. I love the way it will auto indent your code to make it look neater even AFTER you’ve completed the script.
