I pretty much thought that the job would be finnished by afternoon today, but a unwanted suprise poped up that pretty much ruined those plans for me, however at this late time I can finally say that it’s done!

But the unwanted suprise scattered my plans to finnish my new article, sadly but that’s the fact.

So why not bump in some more new tips that you could try out meanwhile?

KDE 4 BETA

Yeah KDE 4 has released it’s fort beta, the stable or complete version is planned to be released somewhere around October this year, but already you could try it out, but remember that it’s a very early version for it so it will most likely cause a lot of trouble for you.
But hey you could always try it, the best part you do not have to install/compile it on your Linux dist as the guys behind the Mephis Distribution has put together a live CD that runs SimplyMEPIS 7.x with KDE 4.0 Beta 1.
KDE 3 is also found in case you find KDE 4 in it’s early phase too troubling.

All your programs on a USB memory

Is this situation familiar?
When you work you deal with a lot of computers, and every time you switch to another you have to reinstall the software and applications that you need to carry out the task.
Well the people behind PortableApps.com has thought out a solution for this.

On that site you can download most of the popular programs that have been modified to run from the USB memory stick or card. Which means no more installations every time you switch to another computer with windows (ow yeah this is for the windows users) instead you just install them ones and plug in the USB memory to the new computer and you’ll have them regardless what computer you are on.

You’ll find tons of programs there, the most “famous” and used can be found there:
Firefox, Thunderbird, Pidgin, VLC, OpenOffice, Notepad++.
Even some run-time-environments for Apache, MySQL and PHP.

So if you are experiencing this problem, or just want to create a USB stick with this function then head over to PortableApps.com and create your custom mix of programs.
