A coder’s steps revealed

I have a job going on with a short deadline so I’ve been working on getting it done this weekend and today, which has resulted in some articles being postponed for a couple of days.

Anyway I recon that tomorrow things will come back to normal, and an article will show up, won’t say what it is about you’ll just have to come back and check it out!

Now to some small news/tips on various things.

First of I want to tell you about Miro the new generation media player and is here to beat the “old” VLC player in offering new and better functions.
I checked it out and it seems promising, so what does it have that VLC doesn’t?

Well we can start with it’s search engine for video clips and tools to administrate the videos in an intelligent way.

The player is available for Win, Mac OS x and of course Linux.
And can be downloaded here: getmiro.com

The other tip is for all you kernel hackers out there, Greg Kroah-Hartman has written a book about just that, it’s about how you configure and build your own kernel.
The good thing about this is that it’s not only meant for people with some experience but also focuses on teaching the people who are completely new to the kernel topic.

The book can be bought on Amazon and is called Linux Kernel In A Nutshell as the writer encourage us to do, or if you’re cheap as the rest of us you can download it for free over here:kroah.com.
Just download it and start hacking on your own kernel.
